I’m a surface pattern designer and lover of all things printed and patterned. My style is bold, bright and inventive, with a particular passion for florals. I’m strongly influenced by the bright, stylised florals and geometric of the sixties, fused with a little of my love for Art Nouveau and Art Deco. I like taking risks with something just a little bit quirky and unusual, and my quirky characters are popular with crafters. I’m also more than a little bit obsessed with the wonderful patterned products at Paperchase and Accessorize! Other brands and designers I love include Kate Knight, Pip Studio, Celia Birtwell, Zandra Rhodes and Disaster Designs. Most of them combine lush and rich florals with elements of vintage design to produce some very distinctive designs. You can find details on my blog page about what I’m currently doing in the world of Surface Pattern Design, as I study The Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design featuring Rachael Taylor and further develop my style.
